Short Info: If you don’t mind being off the waterfront, the Copacabana Sol Hotel offers good value and pleasant accommodations only 4 blocks away from the Copacabana beach. Much of the money went into the fancy lobby; with its colorful furniture and modern art, it borders on funky. Rooms were not neglected, however, nor were the suites. The latter, in particular, are a great deal. Quite spacious and cool with granite floors, these suites have a comfortable sitting room and gorgeous bathrooms with jacuzzi tubs and separate showers offering perfect conditions.
The superior and standard rooms have very small-sized bathrooms with only showering facilities. The superior rooms overlook the street and have balconies and a rather small sitting area. As the Rua Santa Clara is not too noisy (especially during night hours), these decent rooms are preferable to the alley-facing standard rooms (which also lack balconies).
