Short Info: The Flamengo Palace Hotel offers good solid basic accommodations with a million-dollar view, all at a quite reasonable price. Rooms are very clean, with two single beds or one double bed (there are only four of these – two facing the front, two facing the back, so it is advisable to reserve ahead), a small TV, thin carpets and a clean functional bathroom with showers only. Front-facing rooms offer a gorgeous view over the bay towards the Sugarloaf.
Downtown is just within walking distance, and the beaches of Copacabana are a 15-minute Metro ride away. It makes a fine home base for those who would rather spend their money exploring Rio rather than on accommodations.
